Chinese horoscope Summer necklace

Once upon a time there was a little Monkey, a Rabbit and an Oxe and they went on Summer-Summer-Summer holiday to the tropics. They brought their beading stuff with them and made their Summer necklaces made of wood, Jade and Turquoise.
For the photoshoot they picked the coconuts themselves. For the last ones to pick the little Monkey climbed on Oxe's shoulder and fell... But except for some bruises (and some little Monkey tears) the coconut-mission was safe and successful. They picked and plucked until de coconut tree was totally nut-free. They asked Tommy and Wurmi to show the world their Summer necklaces and here they are....
The 3 of them were very happy and danced at the Pondjesbrug until they got sleepy and thirsty. So they went home and opened the coconuts one by one and quenched their thirst by drinking the coconut water. It was so refreshing, it was nature's gold! With droopy eyes they went to bed and dreamed about how much luck and prosperity the Summer necklaces would bring little Monkey, Rabbit and Oxe ...

Sea treasures from the Caribbean

I spent the Summer in the Caribbean and found beautiful little dead coral at the beach.
To save sea life it's not allowed to bring any coral back home.
But I asked around and smaller finds (dead) will be tolerated at the customs.
For larger pieces you will need a receipt from the store to show to customs,
otherwise there's a chance you have to pay a fine -and- they will confiscate the piece.

One day these Caribbean jewels will be wearable! ;-)
The heart of coral is for my little nephew. And how funny is the elephant's foot!

My neo-vintage pendant and Hanut Singh's pendant...
The form, the colour of the stone...

Dutch Design: Art Jewellery & Jewellery Art

I used to work in the arts, but somehow I missed out the chapter about art jewellery in the Netherlands.
Last week I saw a documentary about the Dutch artists Ted NotenUli Rapp (from Germany, but based in the NLs), Marije Geursen and Ralph Bakker. And I am impressed, I love their work. I had no idea this little country is gifted with top jewellery artists. Call it national pride, call it admiration, but I am over the moon!
